Viognier, the maverick aromatic white varietal from the Rhône Valley, creates wines with hedonistic bouquets and fulsome palates.

At Lothian Vineyards, it has fashioned a noble late harvest dessert wine of intensity and finesse.

To make Lothian Vineyards Noble Late Harvest dessert wine, each bunch’s stem was crushed by hand, ensuring the berries would desiccate on the vine.

Intense flavours combined with essential acidity have produced a golden elixir.

This vine-dried Viognier will develop its complexity for up to ten years in the cellar.

When young, Lothian Vineyards dessert wine will partner beautifully with smoked salmon, foie gras, slow cooked pork belly or a selection of fine cheeses.

The vine-dried, botrytised Viognier was hand-harvested at the end of March from the 0.7ha block.

The raisined berries were whole bunch-pressed, with only the finest free run collected.

This noble late harvest was slowly fermented in a single seasoned French oak barrique for 10 months.
