100% Shiraz, age of stock 17 year
Kleinood placeret I Helderberg området nær ved Stellenbosch.
Området er opvarmet om dagen og har kolde nætter. Druerne er plantet 172 – 198 meters over havet.
Dette er toppen af poppen og noget af det bedste jeg nogensinde har smagt.
Navnet Tamboerskloof kommer fra Valley (kloof) og trommer (tamboer)
Katharien Tamboerskloof Rose 2018 is a very pale pink, salmon-colored wine. The nose is highly aromatic a with a broad flavor spectrum profile noting lychee, strawberry, raspberry, citrus and violets.
Particularly food friendly and versatile, perfectly mimicking our award winning Tamboerskloof Syrah 2014 with its mouth-bursting intensity.
Katharien has depth, is well integrated, balanced -even spicy.
All the fruit is from premier vines and 100% Syrah.
No acidification proves that this wine is rich with balanced mouthfeel. Chill to 13 ̊C and open 30 minutes prior to serving.
Starters like roasted beet salads, fresh figs or strawberries with mild cheeses or
seafood pasta and sushi.
The grapes were handpicked over three different dates between 19 and 24 degrees balling to obtain the full red fruit spectrum of the grape.
The grapes were hand sorted across our sorting tables before being destemmed into an INOX basket press.
Juice was settled overnight, where after the clear juice was racked off and 85% of the production was fermented in stainless steel tank and remainder fermented in 300L French oak barrels (5th fill).
